Our Research

We have explored respiratory acoustics from a number of different sources, including the onboard microphone in mobile phones, stethoscopes and through a pneumotach mouthpiece commonly used in spirometry and cardiopulmonary testing. We have over 30,000 samples and have performed 2 pilot studies:

Mayo Clinic:

Using Respiratory Acoustics and Artificial Intelligence to Classify Healthy, Mild, Moderate and Severe Asthma and COPD.

University of Wisconsin LaCrosse:

Acoustics as a Surrogate for Respiratory Gas Exchange
